Walking dead soon in SA
The walking dead is an American horror television series that has been around since 2010. Based on a comic book, the series has gained momentum with fans of the comic book as well as heralded the development of a game. The Walking Dead game will be coming to the South African market on the 31st of May 2013.
The first game will include content from five episodes of the first series. These episodes were chosen because they captured the most excitement from the first season for a full length game while still maintaining the charm of the comic book series. Prices have been announced and will start from R299.95. The game will be available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Watch this space for our full review of this gaming title!
Online gaming
Online gaming has been around for a few years now and has grown in popularity. We have also seen a lot of PC gaming titles which request internet connection to either register or to enable you to play the game. Epic games have been one of the companies that have been on the cutting edge of online gaming development. Recently they had announced that the Unreal Engine will now be able to run on HTML 5 browsers.
Essentially what they have done was take lines upon lines of game code and squeezed it into a package that is able to run on JavaScript. This includes taking complex and demanding game data and optimizing it to run on a web browser while downloading data. At the moment they have the demo working on the Firefox web browser.
How does it affect online gaming though? The development of this means that more and more high end games can be brought to web browsers. This will then filter down to mobile devices and tablet PC’s. The demo of this new gaming experience is now available online, visit link below.
