We have seen Ubuntu phones being released last year with a fair bit of excitement from the open source community. Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu Distribution, is at it again and will release their first tablet pc running purely on an open source operating system. The name of this 10 inch sleek device will be ‘Aquaris M10’. It will feature a 10.1 inch touchscreen and powered by a quad core processor. Yes, although its open source the tablet will be full HD, from display to recording via the 8 megapixel camera.
Predicted price for this device will be in the region of R5700 but that is dependent on the exchange rate at the time of release. The exact date has not been shared yet but the general consensus is that you could start seeing on store shelves during the second quarter of this year.
